The specifications above are for the PassMark USB 2.0 Loopback plug, hardware revision 2. For a list of the differences between the USB2.0 PMUSB02 (rev2) and the PMUSB02 (rev1) loopback plugs see the USB2 FAQ page.

A USB cable is included with each plug. The cable is a standard 40cm A-B USB cable. While just about any USB cable will work, it is best to use a quality high speed, shielded, USB cable when testing. Note that some of the cheaper USB cables are not shielded and thus are not recommended. The cable must be shorter than the 5m allowed in the USB standard. If a USB connection is required beyond 5m one or more hubs are required to extend a USB connection. We have noted during our testing that longer cables are more likely to have higher error rates.

WIN32: Windows XP SP3, 2003 Server, Vista, 2008 Server, Windows 7, and Windows 8 are supported. WIN64: 64-bit Windows XP SP3, 64-bit 2003 Server, 64-bit Vista, 64-bit 2008 Server, 64-bit Windows 7, 8 and 10 are supported. Linux: Kernel 2.6.9 or higher and LibUSB are required. Only the loopback funtions are supported (not benchmark functions). Window 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000 and Mac are not supported.

In order to use the plugs you also need at least one of the following 3 software applications.

A) BurnInTest Professional for Windows version 4.0 or higher, or
B) The free stand alone USB2Test software for Windows, or
C) BurnInTest for Linux version 2.0 or higher.
